Over the course of several years, my husband Kevin and I went through a gradual transformation in our eating habits. We haven't eaten any animal-based foods in several years. Because of this and certain other choices we make about products we use, we are vegans. Although it was a path we first started on for our own health and well-being, over time it became about a lot more. Now that I have really educated myself about how animal products are produced, I consider my veganism to be a moral obligation... not just something I do for myself.
In fact, I am so passionate about my veganism, that I wrote a book on the subject. As any vegan can attest, we get a lot of questions from family and friends about why we eat the way we eat. I started to wonder if there was a book I could recommend to the people who asked me about it. All the books I love on the subject of veganism are rather long and heavy works and are more geared towards people who are already at least considering a vegan lifestyle for themselves. I wanted a book that was short, sweet, and to the point... a book that would just set out to answer the most basic questions about why people go vegan and how they make sure that their health isn't compromised in the process... a book that I could recommend to people with the hope that they might actually read it. So, I wrote "A Better Life Through Food". It's a quick, 70-page read. I hope you check it out.
